If the state of Yoga ('union'), is the destination, then Ayurveda is the means by which we get there.
This ancient healing practice is rooted in an awareness of human beings' connection to and symbiosis with the natural world and the elements. Bringing the body/mind into a state of balance not only has the power to prevent and heal disease, but it also opens us to a fuller and more embodied experience of the state of Yoga which all our practices, devotion and efforts on the spiritual path are leading us towards.
The nuances in our bodies, minds and life experiences are what make practicing yoga so personal. This deeply intimate container we have with ourselves each day - for however long our practice lasts, and however it looks - is the means by which we can begin to refine and adjust our behaviours, beliefs and perception of the world, so as to build on the part of ourselves which is already completely whole and at ease..
This individuality means that naturally, each body, mind and spirit will require a different set of circumstances - both inner and outer - to move towards an experience of balance and ease being the 'default' state we live from.
