In the literal sense, 'Sadhana' refers to a daily spiritual practice - something that connects us to our innermost self, and allows us to begin establishing ourselves in the 'state' of Yoga.
'Sadhana' can also be described as a habitual daily discipline of 'surrending the ego'. In some ways, this seems like a bigger ask, but if we are committed to integrating a meditative practice of any kind into our lives, the dismantling of our more egoic tendencies is a necessary component of practice.
Essentially, sadhana is any ritual or practice which connects you to your spiritual self, fulfilling the deep inner longing which exists at the centre of all hearts for a sense of 'coming home', or 'belonging'.
Mantra sadhana is something which grants us access to a deeper part of ourselves through the medium of sound, and repeated, devotional intention. Meditation and mantra are inextricably linked, as committed practice of mantra gives rise to the state of meditation, from which our minds can become clear, discerning, and capable of wielding a sense of presence masterfully.
This 2-week journey with daily sessions (minus Saturdays) will give you an insight into the cumulative effect of meditation and mantra practice. Each week we'll also gather for a 90-minute 'complete' practice of asana, meditation, pranayama and mantra.
I'd love to share more of these beautiful practices with you - in a small, enclosed and private container where you'll also have a chance to explore the range and scope of your breath and it's connection to the voice.
