5 weeks of online practice to explore the thread between body, mind, breath, voice & mantra, supported by the teachings of yogic & tantric philosophy.
Mondays 7-9pm
6th, 13th, 20th January
3rd, 10th, 17th February
Mantra is a doorway into the infinite - a code or key we can use to unlock and remember our innate connection to that which is unchanging, unwavering, and always present. Yoga practices like asana, pranayama and meditation pave the way for this remembrance, but because mantra is rooted in vibration & frequency, it touches on a part of our being that other practices do not.
This is why mantra sadhana is often seen as the ‘pinnacle’ of practice - sacred sound (such as that uttered in languages like Sanskrit) transforms us from within, whilst simultaneously merging us with something entirely beyond our conceptual understanding.
But, we must start with something we can sense and tangibly feel - which is where yoga asana (postures) and embodied movement come in. Ultimately, all traditional practices of yoga (which means to 'yoke' or to 'unify'), aim to move us from the dense to the subtle aspects of our being, with mantra being the doorway into the most subtle.
These sessions will be mantra and chanting-oriented, with some preparatory movement, breath, vocal and meditation practices to gently pave the way inwards.
